Caring for Invisalign aligners

Fluoride toothpaste or mild soap may also be used to clean the trays. Patients can clean the aligners with a soft-bristled toothbrush, a cloth, or a cotton swab.
Brushes with a hard bristle may damage the plastic, scratching up the aligners. If brushing the aligners is not immediately feasible, the better alternative is to rinse them before wearing them again. The aligners can be soaked in warm water. The aligners may change form with hot or cold water, jeopardizing the treatment progress. In the same way, aligners have no place in a dishwasher or a heated environment, such as a closed vehicle.
